The Arden Folk Gild's annual New Year's Day dance takes place from 2-5 pm at Gild Hall, Arden Delaware, followed by a terrific pot luck supper. One of the IFS favorite gigs!

Connie Martorano arrives early and starts unpacking in the empty hall.

That's Sue Anderson's tambura (and gaida on the floor in the background), so she must be here someplace.

Sound man Bob Taylor has us all miked and ready; time for some last minute tuning.

  Sue brings us in on
La Bastringue.

Carol Wadlinger sings a verse of
Kopačka.

  On repeat of intro to
Rumelaj: Bob Bratton enters with a bass line.

Daryl Kezell starts us on
Zemer Atik with a forceful chord.

Bill Wadlinger and Connie Martorano: third time through Never on Sunday: mandolins only.

Carol and Sue sing out. Bill and Connie wisely keep their mouths shut.

Poetry in motion: a dancer's eye view of things.

Look at Rita's face as she leads the line--she glows with the joy of the dance!

Damn that was fun!  Connie and Daryl speak for all of us after we finish up with the New Year's Medley.

Many thanks to soundman Bob Taylor for taking time to shoot these photos for us. Good job, Bob!
